Mystery and suspense. In a recent survey readers were asked what they look for in a novel. Most answered, mystery and suspense. In this one day workshop we will explore ways of ratcheting up the suspense, and drawing out mystery. Simply put mystery can be summoned through raising questions in your story and delaying the answers. We humans are curious. It is this curiosity that drives fiction. We read, and carry on reading, because we want to find out what happens. So join us, for this October workshop, as the nights draw in, and we create a little mystery.
