A six modular course guiding students through the creative steps to write a story of their life, or the story of someone else’s life, like an ancestor.

Some people think they have to have led an exciting life (or miserable childhood) in order to write a memoir - but every life, even the seemingly ordinary, has riches. The act of life writing can be both therapeutic and creative.

There are different reasons why we might want to do some life writing; to re-visit aspects of our own life, and/or to leave something for children and grand-children.

I have written a memoir that focuses on a period when I went travelling in my early twenties that I have called, In a Selkie’s Skin. In addition, I have also written a fictional autobiography based on the life of my grandmother, The Watchmaker’s Wife.
